Honorable Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s 1st Minister of Communication Technology and founding chairperson of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ), a non-governmental organization seeking to improve the success rate of female entrepreneurs as well as increase the proportion of women in senior positions in corporate organizations just won the GEM Tech Award. The GEM-TECH Awards is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and UN Women, and recognizes outstanding contributions from women and men in leveraging the potential of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to promote gender equality.
