The #CareerHack (@appchallenge) aims to increase the use of the UK Commission for Employment & Skills’ (UKCES) LMI for All data portal. LMI for All is free to access and makes complex Labour Market Information (LMI) easy to access via an API. The data comes from a range of sources such as the Office for National Statistics and UKCES, and provides information on employment, average earnings, qualifications, and vacancies. Currently, we are looking for people to design apps that use the data in new and innovative ways. This may include mashing LMI for All data with other quantitative or qualitative data. Your app can be designed for any audience – this could be students navigating confusing career pathways, graduates, employers, parents – or simply people considering a change of direction in their career. I’m not from the UK, can I still enter? Yes, you can. The minimum age on the date of entry is 16 years. Deadline: Friday 21st February, 2014 at 5pm GMT There are £20,000 in prizes in the #CareerHack @AppChallenge Winner - £10,000 Runner-up -  £5,000 £5,000 special category for students aged 16-24 years old, studying  within the United Kingdom.
