Women Entrepreneurs In Manufacturing (WEIM) Forum is a platform designed for women to discuss the opportunities and advantages women have in the manufacturing sector. A networking platform to mentor and build capacity in women for the expansion of the manufacturing industry in Nigeria. The Nigeria Manufacturing & Equipment Expo, featuring mPAD (Manufacturing Partnerships for African Development) is a three (3) – day International Exhibition and Conference where over 3,700 leading manufacturers, manufacturing equipment distributors, and emerging businesses from West Africa attend, to search, evaluate, and purchase the latest affordable manufacturing equipment, machine tools, solutions, latest technologies and spare parts on display from over 120 leading international suppliers.

Furthermore, with the co-location of the Nigerian Raw Material Expo, in line with the economic diversification policy, and the ease of doing business initiative by the federal government the two in one event aims to deliver value to all stakeholders by enhancing proper representation of a cross-section in the entire value chain from raw materials to the manufacturing sector.

AWARDS:

              *Young Female Manu-preneur 2018 (Emerging Female Manufacturing Entrepreneur)
This award recognizes a woman demonstrating the entrepreneurial aptitude in the micro, small to medium business bracket, a young female in manufacturing who has achieved great results in a promising start-up. Against all odds she has maintained consistent growth over the last two to three years. She clearly demonstrates export potential for her products or services, exhibits strong financial performance, understands her customers, has an engaged workforce with effective leadership, and is continually innovative.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In the micro, small to medium business category in Nigeria:

  •   A business \”for-profit\” designed to generate revenue,
  •   Solely created by a female founder,
  •   At least 2 years old but not more than 5 years old,
  •   Leadership position must be occupied by a woman especially the founder,
  •   Founder must be between 18 to 40 years of age.

  • Copy of business registration
  • Details about products & Services
  • Detailed financials

Selection Process:

  • Nominees will submit the above requirements.
  • After a thorough review the winner will be selected based on the criteria above
  • The winner will be invited to receive the award at the WEIM session during the 2018 NME.

 

                                 A Woman Entrepreneur In Manufacturing to Amazon In Manufacturing

This award recognizes a visionary veteran, who best represents achievement and longevity in the manufacturing industry. A legitimately registered and operating business, started and run by a determined, committed and motivated female entrepreneur for at least 5 years, who has made notable contributions to the manufacturing sector. With sustained achievements within the business community, this woman has consistently delivered exceptional performance year on year, in an innovative viable business with a potential to grow exponentially. The award acknowledges an influential and respected industry leader who has grown with integrity and humility from an emerging business, pushing the boundaries, and increasing the standards of the industry, by birthing an idea and realizing it.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Grown from a micro, small to medium business in Nigeria:

  •  A business \”for-profit\” designed to generate revenue
  •  Solely created by a female founder
  •  Not less than 5 years old
  • Leadership position must be occupied by a woman especially the founder
  • Founder must be between 18 and above
  •  Impact of the business in terms of jobs created and service in the society
  • Level of innovation shown by the overall business concept, its uniqueness, chances of long-term success and potential for future growth and,
  • Overall quality of the business output in terms of products & workforce
