Akinwumi Adesina Sets up Fund for Young Farmers and Agripreneurs

Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, winner of the 2017 World Food Prize and President of the African Development Bank, has made the commitment to establish a fund to support young farmers and agripreneurs. He states, \”this fund will be dedicated to providing financing for the youth of Africa in agriculture to feed Africa.\” He made this announcement while being recognized as the 2017 World Food Prize Laureate.

The AWP Network congratulates Dr. Adesina on a job well done. The World Food Prize also recognizes Adesina’s work over the past two decades with the Rockefeller Foundation, at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture of Agriculture and Rural Development.
