On Saturday, August 27, 2016 – The Bridge Leadership Foundation hosted its 2016 Career Day event at the Calabar International Convention Center. Over 2,700 young people attended this flagship event aimed at inspiring and empowering young people to choose the right career path and make informed decisions regarding their personal development. The Career Day provides a platform for young people looking to become entrepreneurs or seeking to enter the job market, and provides them with the opportunity to learn from accomplished entrepreneurs and professionals who have made major achievements in different sectors.
Giving the opening speech, Senator Liyel Imoke CON, Founder of The Bridge Leadership Foundation, spoke on his personal commitment to empower young people in Cross River State. He stated that \”the Foundation is focused on helping young people actualize their full potential.\” He further stressed that entrepreneurship is not just about being successful in business, therefore, to succeed, young people must make more sacrifices and choose to be different. He encouraged young people to stay focused on their vision.
At the event, Founder of the AWP Network, Mary Olushoga recieved an award for her work and spoke along side Ubong Thompson King: CEO, Protection Plus Services Limited, Jimi Tewe: CEO, Inspiro Consulting, Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo: Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Saudat Salami: CEO, EasyshopEasyCook and Rotimi William: CEO, Kereksuk Rice Farm.
