Hack For Agriculture – Uganda

\"Hack4Agric\"#Hack4Ag aims to contribute to the transformation of the agricultural sector and youth engagement in agriculture through technology.

The Hackathon is a collaboration between the World Bank’s Agriculture Global Practice (GFADR), the Government of Uganda and the Government of South Korea to develop ICT innovations and entrepreneurship in Ugandan agriculture.

The Agriculture Cluster Development Project (ACDP) is a new program from the Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries, and Fisheries to provide assistance to farmers to intensify production of key farm commodities (rice, maize, cassava, beans, and coffee). Participating farmers will be given support to scale-up their use of modern inputs and become more effective in the marketing of their harvested products. Farmers will also be given decision tools to help them maximize returns on their operations. The proposed hackathon will be used to develop some of the decision tools to be used by farmers under the ACDP.

DEADLINE: January 17, 2016
