$25 Million for Entrepreneurial Solutions

The USAID is asking entrepreneurs to come up with solutions to the looming water and food scarcity crisis.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) put out a call to innovators for its annual Grand Challenge, and this year, the theme of the challenge is \”Securing Water for Food.\” In partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, or Sida, USAID is offering up to $25 million in grants, ranging from $200,000 to $3 million, for big ideas that solve the water scarcity problems in the agricultural production chain.

Who can apply: Innovators can come from anywhere in the world and implementation must take place in a developing or emerging country.

The Founding Partners will select up to 30-40 winners in the first round of competition, based on a rigorous evaluation process. Winners will receive funding and acceleration support.
